• Open the QuickBooks software and then open company file. QuickBooks software will make another Network Data file for company file.
• If the same problem appears again, you should practice the next available step.
• The network data files and transaction log files are usually labeled as the hidden files.
• Open My Computer, choose Tools menu then click the Folder Options.
• Click on View tab.
• Choose the Show hidden files & folders.
• Click on OK and then close already opened My Computer window.
• Open the data folder to see network data files and transaction log file.
• Right-click network data file and choose the Properties.
• Delete Hidden option and then click OK.
• Practice the step 6 and step 7 for transaction log file.
• If the same problem appears again, practice the next available step.
• Access to the QuickBooks is blocked by the Firewall settings:
• Go to “Configuring Internet security, personal firewall and parental control applications for QuickBooks updates” for the programs that need access via firewall.
• If the same problem appears again, practice the next available step.
• Network software or server scans the company file:

Backup on network or server that works to scan the local hard drive may stop access to the company files. By disabling mirroring software or backup, you can test it to identify the problem. If the error is fixed, you may experience a clash with the 3rd party software.

Due to the challenges, greater number of mirroring and backup software applications, Intuit is unable to help you fix the 3rd party software problems. However, you can get additional support from the 3rd party program vendor, network or system administrator.

• The QuickBooks software attempts to run the pre-scheduled backup when the company file is being used:
• Disable the pre-arranged backups temporarily and check if the issue is resolved. For additional data, go for “Schedule backups daily or on specific days and times”.
• If the same problem appears again, practice the next available step.
• The company file of QuickBooks software is corrupted:
• Use your network and open sample QuickBooks company file. If the company file opens, it may corrupt your company file. In such situation, you must practice one of the available options:
• Troubled shoot of data damage to detect corrupted company file and then repair it.
• Change the file extension from the .qbw file extension to .old file extension by renaming the corrupted company file.

QuickBooks Error 6144, -103

When multi-user hosting access is blocked in the QuickBooks software, you may experience these errors:

• When the QuickBooks try to open a company file, an error -6144,-103 may appear.
• When the QuickBooks try to open a company file, an error -6144,0 may appear.

Why this issue is appearing?

Network Descriptor file works to store a specific path to the company file and name the particular server from where the file is shared. These error messages appear when the network descriptor file has a wrong path to access your QuickBooks company file or QuickBooks Database Manager uses a corrupted user account on the Windows.

How to resolve the problem?

There are 2 solutions suggested by Intuit and you can practice these solutions to fix the issue. There are great chances of resolving the issue with the solution 1 but you will have to perform other available solutions if your problem persists. Orderly performed solutions will result in resolved issue.

Solution 1: Run QuickBooks File Doctor Application

Download QuickBooks File Doctor Application, install it on your system and run it. If No problem is found even after the QuickBooks File Doctor test and you experience the same error, you should perform the solution 2.

Solution 2: Reinstall the QuickBooks Software

Important Note: To practice these recommended steps, you should have Windows administrator rights. It also requires installation CD of QuickBooks.

Interactive Yammer emails coming to Outlook for Windows, Mac, and mobile apps!

This capability is currently available for Outlook on the web, and is now rolling out for Outlook for Windows, Outlook for Mac, Outlook for iOS, and Outlook for Android. It leverages adaptive cards and actionable messages in Outlook to enable users to see the details of discussions you are following in Yammer, like, and reply directly from the email notification without having to switch applications or open a browser. You will automatically start to receive these interactive notifications from Yammer in Outlook as soon as we enable this feature for your tenant. You can customize which Yammer notifications you get using this guidance.

Connected Experiences

The new Yammer is now in public preview and quickly approaching worldwide release. It includes new features like a variety of community announcement options and changes to the live events and publisher experiences that will drive new opportunities for engagement and generate new notifications in Outlook.

Actions like voting on Yammer polls, attaching recent files, and replies including rich text in replies are already interactive on Outlook on the web. We’re excited to continue building out similar experiences in Outlook for Windows, Mac, and mobile in the coming months. Over the past few months, we have continued to introduce new features and capabilities to the new Outlook for Mac in Insider Fast. We have listened to your feedback and are introducing even more updates so you can get the most out of Outlook. This month we released many new features to improve how you manage your calendar, such as add-ins, sensitivity labeling, the ability to create an event from an email, and much more. Check out everything that is new in Insider Fast Build 16.38 (20052800) and above: 

Make the most of your inbox 

• Add-ins – Install and use your favorite add-ins and enhance your productivity within Outlook. Add-ins that work with Office JavaScript  API 1.6 and below are fully supported. We are currently working on support for API 1.7+.  
• Sensitivity labels – Protect sensitive information across your organization. Classify messages based on their confidentiality and sensitivity to ensure those viewing your email understand how they should treat the information enclosed. 
• What’s new – Stay up to date on new features and capabilities within Outlook and try them out yourself. Check out the “What’s new” pane to see the latest updates and make the most of your inbox and calendar. You can get to it by clicking on the megaphone icon on the top right corner of Outlook, click on the various feature and capability tiles to see brief animations showcasing the feature, and even try out new features right from within each tile.

Focus on what matters with enhancements to contacts and people 

• People view – The people view for the new Outlook Mac is here! Explore contacts that are important to you, you collaborate with often, and even those you may want to follow up with – all from the same place. Easily create new contacts and make updates to existing entries directly from this new view. 
• People search – Search goes beyond just emails and helps you discover important contacts and colleagues. Searching for contacts works intuitively when you are using the people view- simply use the search bar on top of Outlook.  
  • When searching for someone, click on their avatar image in search suggestions to view additional details about them, such as their organizational chart, name, and email address.

Manage your email and calendar with ease 

• Create event from email – Some emails really are better off as meetings. Include all email recipients and the entire email thread in an event – all directly from the message. 
• Suggested times – Finding an ideal time to meet can be challenging. Now, when composing an event, Outlook will take out the guesswork and suggest a time when all attendees are available. 
• Read receipts – Ensure that important email was read by key recipients. Track who has opened and viewed your message by requesting read receipts when composing the mail.  
• Additions to expanded Search – When searching for something specific, select “Add More Options” to narrow your search by fields such as Cc, Bcc, priority, read status, flag status, or category.

• Open shared calendars – See all of your commitments in one place with the ability to open shared calendars you have been added to and see them alongside your personal schedule.
